AT THE PRESENT TIME I'm busy working on the companion volume to 'Twentieth Century Circus People' (Lingdales Press, Formby, 2003) to be titled 'Twentieth Century Circus Shows'. This will consist of an alphabetical list of circuses by the proprietor's name, e.g. Ada Alexandra, or fixed location circuses, e.g. Kelvin Hall, Glasgow. Under each heading I shall give brief biographical information about the proprietor and list all the (locations), dates, associated artistes, dates and other details which I have collected about the show, together with the source of the information. I give a sample of the how the listing will work, beginning with Ada Alexandra's circus; -
ALEXANDRA’S CIRCUS.
Ada Alexandra was an equestrienne, in the 1880s, later becoming a proprietor. Ada Alexandra Knight, daughter of George Knight. Gave her name to "Ada Alexandra's Mammoth Circus and Menagerie". Married David 'Tayleure'. Her circus was sold up in 1910. Daughter Hetty married a Mr. Miller, later marrying Carlos Mier.

Alexandra's American Circus, opened at Tonypandy, Wales, in October 1901, for a season, later visiting Knighton, giving excellent performances. Paid a one day visit to Droitwich, in November 1901.
